I love newborn sessions! Baby Tatum was an absolute joy to photograph. It took a little bit of patience, but we were finally able to get her to sleep. I like that aspect of newborn photography. We don’t have to rush, and in fact, it’s best if we don’t. And then at the end, we get lots of soft sleepy baby images. I did this session in the Saginaw Township home of my client. This works out well because it allows everyone to be relaxed and comfortable and it’s easy to take breaks to feed and change the baby. I hope you love these images of this sweet baby girl as much as I do!

Look at those perfect pouty lips! – Saginaw Newborn Photographer
05.17.11
I had been waiting to meet this little guy for months! His mama was the winner of my contest back in December, and she wanted to save her session until after baby A was born. So I had months to wait until I could meet him! He was well worth waiting for. Look at that sweet face! And I just love his perfect, pouty lips.
He resisted falling asleep at first, and until he was really out, he didn’t want his arms moved at all! And he’s so strong! But we won (of course we did!) the waiting game and soon he was fast asleep. That was well worth waiting for as well.
He was so cute all cuddled up with his mama and daddy. And their happiness is pretty easy to see. Look at that beautiful smile on Mom!

Hello Tiny Little Guy! – Saginaw Newborn Photographer
04.15.11
Every newborn session is different. Some babies are sleepy, some want to stay awake, some don’t mind curling up, some want to stretch and wave. Baby J, at only a few days old, already had some pretty strong opinions. He was willing to be all curly, but only his way. And only if he got to keep his pacifier. We did get some without it, but I think he looks adorable holding it there with his tiny hand.
I love to get images of baby alone, but I also love it when I can get some with mom and dad interacting as well. Baby J got a little grumpy when he felt dad’s stubble on his cheek, but like the tiny hand holding the pacifier, it was super cute!
So glad I got to meet you, T family!

Sweet Sleepy Baby Boy – Saginaw Newborn Photographer
04.06.11
So many people that I know have had or are having babies. My facebook feed is just full of cuteness every day. I really like photographing them so it works out pretty well sometimes!
I bacame friends with C through his brother, whom I met in drivers training class. It had been years since I had seen C but his mother is a facebook friend. I was so glad to have the opportunity to get in touch again, meet his beautiful family, and photograph sweet baby C.
One thing I make sure to note before a newborn session is that the space we’re working in should be warmed up as much as possible to keep baby comfortable. If it’s just a bit too warm for us, it’s probably perfect. We had the heat up, plus a small space heater. I was feeling pretty roasty by the time I was done, but baby C pretty much slept through the whole session, so it was just right for him!

Look at those cheeks! – Saginaw Newborn Photographer

This baby girl was everything I could have hoped for. Sweet, soft, chubby perfection. She put up with me moving her all over the place and stayed sleepy almost all the way. I took these right before I acquired a bunch of newborn props. I so so wish I would have gotten them just a little bit earlier! Fortunately mom had some of her own stuff on hand, like that adorable hat in the third photo from Bouquet Beanies. It’s the “Twisted” hat and you can get interchangeable flowers to go with it, to change the look of your hat in seconds. I can’t wait to order one of my own! It’s going to be so hard to choose which flowers I want!
Class of 2012, I’m looking for Senior Models! Click here for more details, or click here to apply!

Splish Splash! – Saginaw Child Photographer

I cannot wait for warm weather to get here! There has been so much snow and so much cold! I’m over it! Done! Sadly, nature doesn’t work on my schedule. So I’m pretty sure I have a while to wait. We have had a few days that have been a little nicer. And some sun that even feels warm! But, of course, those days are mixed in with days full of snow.
These are from last May on a brilliantly sunny day. I was sitting with K for a bit while she splashed around in her pool. Can’t wait until it’s warm enough for this again!

Beautiful Girl, Beautiful Meadow – Saginaw Child Photographer

I’m always happy when I can do a session with M. You saw her featured earlier this year here. This time we were doing a session in celebration of her turning 2! It doesn’t seem like so long ago that I was photographing her for the first time as a chubby little baby with her grandmother and cousin. They get so big so fast! *sniff*
This session was particularly fun. There was sunshine, flowers, trespassing (wait, I didn’t really say that,) and a visit to the park!

I love photographing newborns. I love all their tiny details. The wrinkles, the fuzz, the peely skin, their tiny hands and feet. I was super excited to be able to do a newborn session for my new baby niece, Rain. Look how gorgeous she is!

A Spring Session With M – Saginaw Child Photographer
04.01.10
We had some unusually warm days in March. I have no complaints. It was wonderful. And it meant that Miss M could do some playing outside while we did her session. She has grown so much since I last took her picture. But she has remained just as adorable!

These three lovely ladies and I spent an afternoon exploring the Castle Museum. The light on the big staircase is beautiful for photographs and I’m always pleased to get to play with it again.
